WARNING — AI-ESTIMATED ENTRY PRICES CAN BE DANGEROUSLY WRONG
AI can help investors collect financial information, organize research, compare companies, and explore valuation assumptions. However, AI cannot replace rigorous, independent value investing analysis.
AI-generated valuations may rely on incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or misleading financial data. Analyst price targets, financial news, social media commentary, and popular investment narratives are not necessarily reliable evidence of intrinsic value.
Understanding a company's true competitive moat, management integrity, long-term economics, capital allocation, financial risks, and sustainable earning power requires comprehensive analysis. AI may overlook critical relationships between these factors.
A stock trading below its historical price or an analyst's price target is not necessarily undervalued.
Only consider investments supported by a durable competitive moat, conservatively estimated intrinsic value, and a substantial margin of safety.
Never treat an AI-generated entry price, an OpScout Monitor, or a triggered Alert as a recommendation to buy or execute a trade.
Always conduct independent due diligence before investing.
Research first, automation last
A responsible batch-investing workflow
Automation starts only after the investment thesis, valuation, and requirements survive human review.
- 01
Identify Quality Businesses
Start with fundamentally strong companies that may possess durable competitive advantages.
- 02
Research Intrinsic Value
Analyze financial statements, sustainable cash flows, return on invested capital, balance-sheet risks, competitive position, and management quality.
- 03
Demand a Margin of Safety
Estimate conservative intrinsic value and determine whether the proposed entry price provides sufficient protection against uncertainty.
- 04
Review Before Creating
Human users evaluate the proposed prices and assumptions before approving bulk Monitor creation.
- 05
Let OpScout Monitor
OpScout continuously evaluates the configured conditions and generates Alerts when they are met. An Alert is not a buy recommendation.
Review-first example
A better prompt for batch research
Use a prompt that makes research quality and explicit approval prerequisites for Monitor creation.
Here is my list of potentially undervalued stocks.
First, investigate which companies have genuinely durable competitive moats and strong underlying business economics.
For each company, examine reliable financial disclosures, sustainable free cash flow, ROIC, debt obligations, management quality, competitive threats, and reinvestment opportunities.
Estimate a conservative intrinsic value using clearly stated assumptions, and identify an entry price offering a substantial margin of safety.
Prioritize primary financial sources. Verify material figures, provide source dates, distinguish facts from assumptions, and explicitly identify uncertainty.
Do not use mechanical percentage discounts, chart support levels, analyst consensus targets, or recent price declines as substitutes for intrinsic valuation.
Reject companies whose competitive advantages, financial quality, intrinsic value, or margin of safety cannot be established with sufficient confidence.
Do not fabricate missing data or numerical precision.
Show me the research results and proposed entry prices for review. Only after my approval, use OpScout MCP to create Target Entry Monitors for the approved stocks.
Ask me for any missing required Monitor parameters, including minimum annualized return. Never invent investment requirements.
Finally, verify which Monitors were created and report every failure.
Cautionary real-world example
Automation completed. The investment work did not.
In one batch, 30 stocks were submitted for analysis. Twenty-eight Monitors were created, there were 2 creation failures, and 13 Monitors were subsequently reported as triggered. The user judged the overall valuation and Monitor configuration results unsatisfactory.
- Submitted
- 30 stocks
- Created
- 28 Monitors
- Failed
- 2 creation failures
- Later reported
- 13 triggered
What went wrong with the research approach
- Entry prices were derived partly from technical support levels and mechanical percentage discounts.
- Analyst consensus targets were sometimes treated as substitutes for intrinsic value.
- Competitive moats and long-term fundamental economics were not sufficiently established.
- A 12% minimum annualized return was selected without the user's explicit instruction.
- The high number of early triggers prompted concern about the quality of the entry thresholds, although trigger counts alone do not prove the thresholds were incorrect.
Creating 28 Monitors is an automation result, not evidence of 28 attractive investments.
A triggered Alert means the configured conditions were met. It does not mean a stock is undervalued, safe, or suitable to purchase.
This batch did not demonstrate profitable trades, validated valuations, or reliable investment recommendations.

Always watching
You set the requirements. OpScout monitors them.
A Target Entry Monitor continuously looks for executable ways to enter a stock at the price you want. When multiple contracts qualify, OpScout focuses on the most useful opportunities instead of making you scan an entire options chain. A triggered Alert means only that your configured conditions were met; it is not a recommendation to buy or trade.
- Buy-Write opportunities
- Cash-Secured Put opportunities
- Effective entry price
- Annualized return
